The read
Vettori's gas tank and volume have carried him through three straight decision losses without ever getting finished, and that durability is the central question here against a real knockout threat in Naurdiev.
Naurdiev has the cleaner one-shot power and enough wrestling to keep Vettori honest, but Vettori's pressure has frustrated better strikers than this before.
Lean Naurdiev if he can keep this at range early; lean Vettori if it turns into the grinding decision it usually does.
The matchup
This fight was supposed to happen in June and didn't, but the stylistic questions haven't changed: Vettori's suffocating volume and pressure against Naurdiev's more explosive, finish-first kickboxing.
Vettori has never been finished in his career and has traded almost exclusively in decisions, for and against, which sets up a real durability test against a fighter with 13 knockouts on his resume.
Naurdiev's own takedowns give him a second way to win if the standup gets competitive, a dimension Vettori's ten losses — all by decision — have never had to solve from this angle.

The fighters
Marvin Vettori 19-10-1
“The Italian Dream”
Vettori is a former title challenger who took Israel Adesanya the distance twice, known for relentless pressure and a chin that has never been cracked — all ten career losses are decisions. Now on a three-fight skid, all by unanimous decision, he finally returns after a broken rib scrapped a scheduled June 2026 meeting with this same opponent, Ismail Naurdiev.

Ismail Naurdiev 25-8
“The Austrian Wonderboy”
Naurdiev is an Austrian striker in his second UFC run after going 2-2 in an initial stint from 2019 to 2020, now fighting out of Morocco. He is athletic and explosive with solid takedowns to mix behind his kickboxing, and has won three of four since returning. He finally gets the rebooked matchup with Marvin Vettori after a broken rib forced Vettori out of their original June 2026 date.
