The read
Both men look to end fights on the feet, which raises the odds of an early finish for whoever lands first and cleanest.
Souza's reach and height advantage should let him work from range if he can keep Parsons on the end of his strikes, but Parsons' pressure and power have been enough to walk down bigger names before.
A live pick that could end inside the first two rounds either way.
The matchup
This pits knockout power against long, physical length.
Parsons has stopped seven of his nine career opponents and made an immediate statement in his UFC debut with a Fight of the Night stoppage of Danny Roberts.
Souza stands 6-foot-3 with six of his nine wins by TKO, giving both men a real finishing path if the fight stays standing.
