Oliveira is a former UFC lightweight champion and the promotion's all-time leader in submissions and finishes, a fourth-degree jiu-jitsu black belt who pairs dangerous guillotines and back-takes with real knockout power in the clinch. After being knocked out by Topuria in a June 2025 title fight, he rebounded to submit Gamrot and outpoint Max Holloway for the BMF title in March 2026. At 36, he remains ranked in the division's top three.
