Javad Mahjoub is a 35-year-old heavyweight fighting out of Tristar Gym in Montreal under Firas Zahabi, born in Iran before fleeing to Canada, where he now lives and trains. A former judoka who won gold at the 2013 Asian Championships and competed for the IOC Refugee Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2020 Games, he turned to MMA in 2022 and has gone 5-0 as a pro, most recently submitting Pietro Gentile de Oliveira with a first-round armbar at Unified MMA 67 in February 2026. He signed with the UFC in 2026 and is booked to make his promotional debut against Louie Sutherland at the promotion's October 17 return to Edmonton.
