Jose Montanha is a 6-foot-4 Brazilian heavyweight out of Curitiba's Gile Ribeiro Team who took a winding road to the UFC, grinding through years of regional cards before a long win streak earned him a contract. Every one of his seven professional victories has come by finish -- four submissions and two knockouts before his Octagon debut -- with his only defeat a 2022 unanimous decision to Richard Jacobi. He introduced himself to UFC fans in style at UFC Fight Night in Gamrot vs. Salkilld in August 2026, submitting Louie Sutherland with a neck crank from back control in under two minutes, and has said he wants to fight again before the end of 2026. With just one Octagon appearance on the books, his career numbers are still a small sample, but the finishing rate that got him signed has carried straight into the UFC.
