Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida is a 36-year-old Brazilian heavyweight who arrived in the UFC as one of the most decorated competitors in IBJJF history before transitioning to MMA with ONE Championship, where he ran off five straight finishes (four by submission) before a 2023 decision loss to Oumar Kane snapped the streak. His UFC run has been a rougher transition: a decision loss to Martin Buday in his 2025 promotional debut, a draw with Kennedy Nzechukwu after a point deduction, and a second-round knockout loss to late-replacement Ryan Spann in April 2026 that left him still searching for his first Octagon win.
